A very eclectic mixtape-style session from one of techno’s Detroit godfathers

American DJ/remixer/producer Claude Young has been an important figure in electronic music since his beginnings in 1991, launching his studio career with productions for Kevin Saunderson at Detroit’s legendary KMS studio. Few of his peers have been able to appeal to the tastes of both major and independent labels in the manner that he has, having recorded for Virgin, Astralwerks, Mo’wax and R&S records alongside smaller cult imprints such as studio K7, Harthouse and Scotland’ Soma recordings. He continues to be in great demand as a remixer for artists worldwide; previously the works of Gary Numan, Carl Craig, 4Hero, Sven Vath and Inner City have all been interpreted by him to great effect. Young’s 1997 move to London was prompted by an invitation to participate in producing original music for the Sony Playstation game ‘Ghost in the Shell’ along side Takkyu Ishino, Joey Beltram, The Advent and a host of other elite techno producers. Currently enjoying world-wide recognition as one of the finest DJs on the scene, Claude continues to show his ability to stay one step ahead of his contemporaries.
